Deep Breathing also known as thoracic expansion is the best breathing technique to clear pulmonary secretions and enhance lung function. It’s a stage of Active cycle of breathing techniques and is carried out mainly in sitting position. This exercise allows the air to go right to the bottom of the lungs that helps to mobilize and clear secretions.
